Floris McWhorter Davisson, Jr. succumbed to metastatic melanoma, September 21, 2011 at the age of 86. He served in the US Army from 1943-1946, was an outstanding basketball coach and business teacher in Lost Creek, WV, 1949-'55, Rockville and Bethesda, MD 1955-'73, coordinator of Co-Op Ed, 1973-'78. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Nora, children, April (John), Julia (Steve), Tim (Lisa) and Ruth (John), five grandsons, five granddaughters and two great grandsons. A wonderful celebration of his life was held at Riderwood Village Chapel on September 25, 2011, made possible by four children and daughter-in-law. A military funeral was to take place at Arlington Cemetery.
